We are proud to announce a new program that will recognize and support our core group of volunteers, who have always been the backbone of operating this organization focused on uplifting and including the most marginalized in our society. Our overextended leaders have not always been able to be as appreciative or inclusive due to a structure built for a much smaller organization. Today, we launch the Rainbow City Guild!
Tired of feeling unseen and underappreciated? Do you love being a part of Rainbow City, but wish there were more ways to get involved and feel connected? We hear you! That's why we tailored this brand-new program to designed to support both current members to volunteer, or anyone in the community that wants to be more involved and make a difference. We're proud to be better recognizing and rewarding our amazing volunteers.
A Look Back: Recognizing the Challenges
For a long time, Rainbow City has relied on the dedication of countless volunteers to keep our organization running smoothly. However, roles had too much responsibility in too many subject matter areas to allow anyone to be fully successful. Further, expansion to add new roles were not able to be retained as folx left their positions. We've also recognized some of these challenges:
- Unclear Opportunities: Many volunteers weren't sure where their talents could be best used.
- Inconsistent Recognition: Volunteers often felt their contributions went unnoticed.
- Benefits Confusion: Benefits like free memberships weren't always clearly communicated.
These issues led to frustration and ultimately, volunteer burnout. We knew we needed a change.
Introducing the Rainbow City Guild
The Guild is a program designed to address these concerns and create a more supportive environment for our volunteers who are both seasoned musicians and new members of our audience. Here's how it works:
- Membership is Easy: Anyone who volunteers an average of 5 hours a month becomes a Guild member.
- Flexible Roles: We offer a variety of roles with time commitments that fit your schedule.
- Meaningful Recognition: Guild members receive exclusive benefits like free ensemble memberships, social events, and recognition on our website.
